Shahrekord, the center of Charmahal va Bakhtiari province, is located at the border between central Iran and Zagros, and a small distance from zagros fault zone. This province has experienced recent Naghan earthquake of 1977 (Ms=6.5) and Lordegan earthquake of 1991 and received damage in its metropolitan areas. Shahrekord, as the center of province and a developing area, and being situated in such a seismic region, should receive special attention. Sharekord is surrounded by mountains. This paper presents the potential of landslide with respect to earthquake in Sharekord region. Different information layers of the area were studied in the ArcGIS, using earthquake acceleration parameter, studying about 70 water wells of the region, field work and mapping. Regional soil distribution map, DEM, slope map, and isohyet map were prepared. The prepared landslide potential map detected three zones, namely Mohammadabad to Bozlor's mountain, south of Baraftab mountain and Shahrak Sanaty, as the zones of potential landslides. Mohammadabad and Bozlor's zone found to have greater landslide potential, in comparison with the other two. The higher potential zone is located closer to Zagros fault zone, and has acceleration ranges of 0.4, 0.45 and 0 g, and 500 mm. annual rainfall.
